Product Description
Ammonium Persulfate, also known as APS, is a synthetic chemical with various biochemistry and molecular biology applications. The oxidation of Ammonium Persulfate has been used in the preparation of cellulose nanocrystals.
The most common use of Ammonium Persulfate is in the preparation of polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis, since it acts as a catalyst for the polymerization. When combined with TEMED, APS promotes the polymerization of Acrylamide and Bis-Acrylamide. The resulting gel matrix is used in electrophoresis.
bioWORLD's Ammonium Persulfate is of >98% purity for molecular biology use. We carry any other tools you may need for SDS-PAGE and electrophoresis, such as loading dyes, running buffers, and agarose for gels.
bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
