Bis-Tris is an amine buffer similar to Tris in structure and is a buffer used for protein and nucleic acid systems. It is also used as a substitute for cacodylic acid buffer systems. Bis-Tris binds to Cu and Pb and weakly to Mg, Ca, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, and Cd.
