One of the original Good’s buffers, MOPSO buffer is prepared by adding NaOH to the free acid solution. A zwitterionic aminosulfonate buffer similar to MOPS, MOPSO buffer is partly degraded on autoclaving. It is frequently used as a buffering agent in biology and biochemistry.
