Casein-blocking buffer is 3% in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide. It is a liquid stored between temperatures of -30°C to -10°C, and is used for Western blot and ELISA. Buffer used for blocking excess binding sites on membranes and microplates in antibody-based detection methods.
