Acriflavine Neutral is an excellent dye for fluorescent labelling of high molecular weight RNA. Surprisingly, this Acridine derivative is also an effective antifungal and antiparasitic agent in liquid cell culture.
Molecular Biology Grade Acriflavine is soluble in water at 330 mg/mL. Excitation and emission is as follows: .
• Water: λex = 416 nm; λem = 514 nm
• Methanol: λex = 424 nm; λem = 518 nm
• Ethanol: λex = 426 nm; λem = 524 nm
• Glycerol: λex = 432 nm; λem = 540 nm
