Betaine is sometimes known as Trimethylglycine or Oxyneurine. A naturally ocurring methyl donor, Betaine-derivatives can be used as zwitterionic surfactants. It is believed that Betain has anti-inflammatory properties.
Betaine is of >98% purity and has been extensively tested for bacterial contaminants as well as chemical impurities, making it ideal for use in PCR. See our ready-to-use solutions of 5M and 3.2M concentrations. Depending on the application, Betaine Anhydrous may more effective than Betaine Hydrochloride at increasing growth.
