Product Description

Gellan Gum Powder is a popular agar substitute for microbiological and plant tissue cell culture. It is excellent for the culture of thermophilic bacteria, as it can withstand higher temperatures in comparison to traditional agar. Gellan Gum has even been used as a tool in regenerative medicine as a stable component of tissue engineering.

Biotechnology Grade Gellan Gum has a gel strength of 400-700 g/cm2, and is best dissolved in distilled water at 100°C. For most applications, a concentration of 2% is more than sufficient.
