Product Description

Gentamicin Sulfate is an antibiotic derived from Micromonospora purpurea, with a particular activity against Gram-negative bacteria. It works by irreversibly binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, inhibiting protein synthesis. This aminoglycoside is unique in that it is stable even after autoclaving, making it especially useful in molecular biology and cell culture applications.

Gentamicin Sulfate has a potency of ≥590 µg/mg and is thoroughy tested for bacterial and chemical contaminants. Unlike many other antibiotics, Gentamicin is soluble directly in aqueous solutions at up to 50 mg/mL.

For a product that is ready for direct use in cell culture, bioWORLD offers a number of sterile solutions in different concentrations, as well as agar plates already containing Gentamicin.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
