Product Description

HEPES Free Acid (N-[2-Hydroxyethyl]piperazine-N'-[2-ethanesulfonic acid]) is a zwitterionic Good's Buffer. Its pKa is near physiological pH, meaning it is not absorbed through cell membranes. This makes HEPES an excellent buffer choice for cell culture and other biological applications.

Microbiological Grade HEPES Free Acid is of high purity and is essentially transparent to UV light. It is often used in place of Bicarbonate buffers because of its superior buffering capacity in the presence of Carbon Dioxide production. HEPES is also an ideal choice when metal chelation is to be avoided in working with enzymes.

bioWORLD offers a number of HEPES buffers of different concentrations and pH for every application.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
