IPTG (Isopropyl-β-D-Thiogalactopyranoside) is an inducer of β-galactosidase. It is used in conjunction with X-gal to promote the expression of proteins in cells controlled by the lac operator system. The solution contains 40mg/ml of IPTG (Isopropyl-β-D-Thiogalactopyranoside) supplied in two very easy and convenient to use format: i. Dropper Bottle (cat# 21530104) and ii. Spray Bottle (cat# 21530105).
Spray bottle:
i. Spray (2-3 times) on desired bacterial plate
ii. Ensure absorption (wait ~5-10 minutes) and
iii. Plate the transformed bacteria to be tested and incubate
Stability: Stable for 6 months at 4°C. It is shipped at ambient temperature.
