Pancreatic Digest of Casein (PEP C) is a general purpose growth peptone used for the cultivation of most bacteria and fungi and some protozoa. Pancreatic Digest of Casein can be used for indole testing because of its high tryptophan content. Pancreatic Digest of Casein (PEP C) is biologically free of carbohydrates and is recommended for fermentation studies. It can also be used to determine nitrate reduction. Pancreatic Digest of Casein (PEP C) provides nitrogen, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids in prepared culture media.
