Product Description

Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, also known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or SDS, is an ionic detergent used to denature native proteins for gel electrophoresis. It is the key ingredient in SDS-PAGE, denaturing proteins in such a way that they can be quantified strictly by molecular weight, and ionic charge does not interfere. SDS can also be used in lysis buffers for DNA/RNA extraction.

Molecular Biology Grade Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate is of >98% purity and is free of DNase and RNase. SDS 10% is an efficient and stable way to use this reagent without exposing your team to the hazardous raw material. bioWORLD carries all of the running buffers and loading dyes needed for SDS-PAGE.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
