TAPS is a zwitterionic buffer commonly referred to as a Good's buffer. Ideally a pH range of 7.7 - 9.1 is useful in biochemistry and molecular biology. TAPS is commonly during capillary electrophoresis and planar chromatography of DNA and DNA-dye complexes.
